 Nickname - "The Horse" Chris -  and how's that Brian? Brian - "That's a stupid question really it's because I'm hung like one ya diddy, Chris - oh sorry I thought it was because you talked a load of bollocks!

 Home Town - "Perth where the prison is", Chris - Aye I know iv'e seen you riding that Maico you should be in the jile the way that you ride that bike.

 Date of Birth - 11th of January 1960

Occupation - "I'm an engineer and work with anything with high engineering tolerances". Chris - and I suppose that's what attracted you to the Maico marque with it's "Nasa" quality high engineering specs.

 Marital Status - "I'm actually still waiting to be asked by my lovely partner my beloved Fiona, and maybe now if she reads this she'll pop the question to me". Chris - yes maybe but it might not be the question that your looking for".

Any Heroes - " I've allway's thought that Heikki Mikkola the superb works motocross rider from the 1960's and 70's was my inspiration".

Hobbies (other than motocross) - "I like hillwalking and ski-ing and any other he-man physical stuff". Chris - and what about shovin dead Maico's about a field that could be classed as  a hobby?.

Any websites or internet chatrooms - "No. . . I only use computers for business purposes and the occassional Twinshock Club browse when I'm bored".

What was your first bike - "You should remember this one it was a Yamaha 50 "Fizzy"Sports Moped or an FSIE and it had a gold tank and pedal's it was a wee cracker".

How much did you pay for it - "About £50 I think, my dad bought it as an accident damaged bike from a local insurance assessor".

First ever race - "That was at a grasstrack at our local track at Abernethy in 1976 and I was on a CZ 400".

First win (if any) - "That was a red letter day for me it was at that superb track at Burntisland in Fife in 1978 aboard a Maico 400, and I beat the legendary Johnny Whiteford into the bargain ... what a day".

Best ever result - "I hate to say it but it was the day I beat your mate Paul Chiappa in 2002 at the superb Darvel track when I got a 1st overall in the big bike 300cc class . . . I was made up".

Career highlights so far - "Of course that was joining the fantastic Scottish Twinshock Scramble Club" . . . .  Chris - Aye I was right at the start you do talk a load of shite Brian!.

Now

 What is your current bike - "I have a 1981 490 Maico (a big man's bike for big boy's of course) and a 1988 KTM 500 Evolution bike for when I need a bit more reliability".

What is the best feature of your current bike - "Well believe it or not I must have the only 490 Maico that actually starts from the kickstart (or is it just me), and it has been ultra reliable for me so far,. . . . oh aye and I love the big Maico's smooth power delivery as well".

What is the worst feature of your current bike - (Chris - And remember we are talking about a Maico here and I'd like to try and get this interview all on this page.) "Brian - Alright it's probably the high maintenance you have to keep giving them to keep them running. . .  in other words their just like a good looking woman really".

What would you do if you won the lottery - "I'd just emigrate to Australia and never do another stroke of work again".

What get's your back up What annoys you more than anything - "B. . . dy caravaners on the road when your trying to get somewhere in a hurry, their a pain in the arse they should be banned from the road".

Current race number - No 8

Ambitions for the future - "Well maybe a date with Naomi Campbell would do nicely for starters. . . .Chris - "You might have more of a chance with Archie Campbell" but then again you are called the Horse are'nt you !

Your views on the Cardenden track -  "It's definately better since the revamp but there is a couple of jumps I'm not too sure of yet I just need to learn them with some more practise".

Best Mate - "Easy that's the love of my life my partner Fiona . . .  ( now surely that last statement  will definately be cheaper than me buying her a birthday present when it's due".)

Finally any embarrassing bike or racing moments - "I once forgot to turn on the petrol on my bike at the start line on my 400 Maico at a scramble at Balvaird near Glenfarg in 1977, I just shot off the line and then the bike just died on me what a plonker I felt".

How much did you pay for it - "Nothin I got it off a bloke because the f....ing thing would'nt go but dinae tell him"

First ever race - "That was at  the Scottish Twinshock Club Scramble meeting at  Alloa in 2005 where I rode a Maico 400.... "very badly".

First Win if any - "I've not had one yet but the way I'm riding at the moment it's surely not far away... what do you think ?" (Chris - "aye right just keep practising......for maybe the next five years or so")

Best Ever Result - "I was second in the Twinshocks at Forfar in 2007 on my Honda, christ you should have seen how bloody fast I was going I was awesome...and it was all captured on video... which I always fast- forward when I watch it cause it makes me look like I'm going faster".

Career Highlights so far - "That was at the same meeting at Forfar man I was on f...ing fire that day"

What is your current bike - "I have a Honda CR 250 and a CR 480 their some tools, that's because I've got loads of money you see with boats and stuff... I'm minted".

What's the best feature of your current bike - "Well it's super quick and basically I like it cause it's built for wee short arses like myself"

What's the worst feature of your current bike - "Your jokin it's perfect.... well that is untill I sling my wee legs over it"

What would you do if you won the lottery - "I'd start my own race team and call it "The Valley Raiders" I'd be the number 1 rider and big Rick,  Gary and Alec would be my bitches".

What would be your ultimate dream machine - "I've got my eye on a big 50ft Catamaran boat (Chris - what the f...k is a Catamaran (Jock it's a boat with two hulls...(Chris "hulls" is that the things you shove a Maico down to start them"?...and what has boats got to do with motocross you diddy")

Your views on the Cardenden track - "Brilliant it's the best run track in Fife and it's even better when i'm running round it"

Best mate - " Now that would be unfair to name just one mate because as you know I'm so popular and everybody loves me, but big Rick,Alistair, Alec, and Gary are the best bunch of "dick heads pals" you could ever wish for as mates" well it's just as I said to big Rick. . . (or "Blakey" as he's become known) the other day "what's up Rick and he just replied "f...k nose" jock.

Any Final words or embarrassing racing moments - "Well there was a time when myself and the love of my life were out on my gixer ("that's a Suzuki GSXR to you dumb f...ers) we were out for a run and we were following a caravan which decided to brake suddenly, well then I had to brake to avoid it and swerved into a ditch with the bike and the wife, (f...ing caravaners they should be shot what a f...ing day that was")

First ever race - " I think that was at Leuchars when I was aged just 7 on a wee KX 60 which I raced in the schoolboys".

First Win if any - " That was at Selkirk in the borders when I raced in the 60cc class...it was a Scottish Championship meeting".

Best ever result - " That was at Stonehaven it was a Scottish Championship Round and I won the race to take the title in the s/w 80 class".

Career highlights so far - " I was totally chuffed to be chosen to represent North East England and Scotland in the s/w 80 class". (Chris....oh really I thought it was when you were on the telly when you were just 10 years old...along with the now Scottish female motocross star Kerry Wilson, remember when you had about 5 minutes of fame for a TV programme called "Exchanges" which was being filmed at Knockhill Racing Circuit courtesay of "Fun in the Mud's" Andy Russell "....."you've been speaking to my dad hav'nt you" (Chris... yes I have and we now have it on video as well so we should have an excellent laugh at the end of season Twinshock dance this year".)......your a big shite Monty".

What is your current bike - " I have two TM 250's a 08 bike which I use at the moment, and a spare bike in case things go wrong or if I crash and bend things a bit...or maybe a lot".

What is the best feature of your current bike - " Mainly the endless power band.. it revs forever and has superb handling,.... it's basically an all round crackin bike".

What is the worst feature of your current bike - " it does'nt really have one...but then again as soon as I cock my leg over it anything can happen....and usually does".

What would you do if you won the lottery - " I'd probably move to Australia...but I'd make sure Mum and Dad were OK for a few quid....and I'd pay him back the £500 he paid for my first bike" (Chris.....aye that would be great Jason then you might be able to afford to buy your own DVD's and Photo's instead of "sponging" of them ".)

What get's your back up - " That would have to be crashing...it's really crap when your riding well and out in front and then you do something really stupid like just fall off on a simple corner or something...you just feel like a dick".

Ambitions for the future - " I've always thought it would be great to maybe someday win the Adult Scottish Motocross Championship..... that would really be cool".

What is your ultimate dream machine - " That would have to be the bike I have at the moment my 08 TM 250".

Your views on the Cardenden track - " Well it's mainly the actual layout of the track and the superb jumps....and of course all the friendly people and superb Photographers and Video men" (Chris......don't think your getting a free DVD or photo for that statement son").

Best mate - " I don't really have one but how about my Dad he's great " (Chris....your a wee sap".)

Any final Words or embarrassing moments - " At my first race meeting at Leuchars I was on my wee 60cc bike and I was going from the pit area to the start line when one of the officials stopped me and said " just go to the gate son" so I headed off and stopped at the farmers gate on the entrance to his field and wondered why everyone else were not going to the same place...I did'nt know they had such things as proper starting gates at that time ........what a right plonker I felt".

Any final words or embarrassing bike moments - " I was at the Glen Lomond track practising and I went into a deep rut with my front wheel and it got stuck and chucked me over the top of the bars and I flew head first into a big deep puddle and then the bike landed on top of me......I thought I was going to drown.... it was crapping myself".
